GARDENING FACTS FOR OKALOOSA COUNTY

Our plant hardiness zone is 8a and 8b.  Our heat zone is 9.

Average annual temperature is 76o.  Summer highs can be in the 90's and winter lows occasionally dip below freezing. Temperatures vary between the northern and southern parts of the county.

Our growing season is from mid-March to mid November.

Average yearly rainfall is 62 inches. Monthly average is 5.1 inches. Expect the most rain in July and the least amounts from October to February.
